An aerial view...

Australia Home

We had ridden around the entire valley area, inlcuding the nearby town of Cessnock. Even with the drought, it was beautiful. We had tried renting a helicopter the day before, but we had wind gusts of up to 50mph! Riding that day was insane! We were at a 45 degree angle at some points, it reminded me of a trip out west with Mike Cannady years ago where we had 60 mph winds across the plains. We managed to rent a plane, but even up to the minute we took off, we were not sure we were going to be able to go. The small plane, a single engined Piper Cub was late returning, so we were given a larger plane, which made things MUCH smoother in the air.
